What is a LinkedIn Business Page?

Think of your LinkedIn company page as your business’s home base on LinkedIn. Just like your website, it’s an opportunity to make a first impression to potential customers, partners, and employees and to control the overall narrative.

Here’s how it differs from your personal profile:

  • Your profile is about YOU – your skills, experience, and personal brand.
  • Your company page is about your BUSINESS – your services, team, and industry authority.

And while it’s true that personal profiles typically get more engagement, that doesn’t mean company pages aren’t worth your time. In fact, they serve a completely different purpose.

Why Your LinkedIn Company Page Matters (Even if You Think It Doesn’t)

Many small businesses assume their personal LinkedIn page is where they should spend their effort and time. But here’s the catch—what happens if your top employee, who has been building their personal brand and engaging with your audience, leaves the company?

Their connections, content, and influence go with them. Poof! They’re gone.

A LinkedIn business page ensures that your brand presence stays with the company, no matter who comes and goes.

  • It boosts credibility when prospects Google your company.
  • It helps potential clients find you outside of your personal network.
  • It keeps your brand identity consistent even as employees change.

And here’s something most business owners don’t realize: Your LinkedIn company page ranks high on Google. If someone searches for your business, chances are your LinkedIn page will be one of the first results they see—especially if you’re active on the platform.

The question is: Are they seeing a well-managed, informative page…or a digital ghost town? That’s up to you. And it takes less time and effort than you might expect if you use it strategically.

How to Use Your LinkedIn Business Page Strategically

You don’t need to pour endless hours into your company page, but you do need a strategy.

  • Optimize Your Page – Fill out your company bio, services, and website link.
  • Post Regularly – Even just once a week keeps your page active and relevant.
  • Engage as Your Business – Like, comment, and share industry content to stay visible.
  • Use It to Amplify Personal Profiles – Your company page can support employee content, making your brand look larger and more authoritative.

And here’s a bonus tip: If you’re not comfortable putting yourself in the spotlight, your company page can be a great place to start building your voice before diving into personal branding.
